Bob Gill

Every Friday AGI London will be posting a recommendation to go and see, read about or watch something noteworthy, new or exciting happening in the world of graphics.

The first thing we must bring to your attention before it closes on 11 April is a show of 6 hand coloured screen prints by Fletcher/Forbes/Gill legend Bob Gill.

This cleanly hung no thrills show beautifully communicates the directness of Bob Gill’s bold images, and doesn’t disappoint the effort of navigating the back streets of down town Dalston in search of The Print Club’s gallery on Miller Avenue. Bob Gill’s efforts alongside Alan Fletcher and Colin Forbes in the early 60s played a significant role in the professionalisation of Graphic Design. This show demonstrates that his image making is still engaging and relevant today.

The Print Club is to be commended for initiating this collaboration to deliver an exhibition of work by someone too seldom seen in London.

The show runs till 11 April at The Print Club, 10–28 Millers Avenue, London E8. Open Monday to Friday 12–6pm.
